(could be the AppleTV was trying the WiFi and the ethernet, but AirPLay was the thing that caused the most problems for the client) and the eventual conclusion (after TAC case) is that the 23JF unit does work, (and I've since replaced it and using it through that same unit's connection I'm typing up this response) but that it's a tad on the underpowered - It cheap and nasty as it belongs in a hotel room - feeding a VoIp phone (as is next to my bed), a computer (like the MacAir with USB-ethernet I'm typing on) and a couple of phones (Okay, I must admit, I give the next door-flat neighbor via the hole in the wall only 20Mbps internet on a separate VLAN via the FG61F) We started a relationship with a new company.Īlso, I had an experience with the 23JF where the Apple-TV behind it just caused endless troubles for the client with lockups, slowness etc. The sales guy was thrilled, but my budget was not and that salesman is blackballed here. We were forced to immediately replace all of the B's and C's with the new E's. People in the middle of presentations would lose internet for a few seconds, which disconnected their Teams conference. They worked as far as broadcasting a signal and the correct SSID, but if you were in an area that was between (2) of the access points the connection wasn't handing off you'd see your WIFI drop and pickup on the next AP. The B's refused to work with the E's, and the C's would only work with one or the other but not both.

We bought (42) of the slightly newer 221e's and were told everything would be great. Each building typically had (2) AP's and as the employee count grew in each we needed to add a 3rd AP to each building.

We had a bunch of buildings with FortiAP 221c's and a few older buildings with 221b's. That's what I was told when they sold them to me.
